The short version

It's illustrated fiction that fuses the storytelling rhythm and visual energy of manga with Australian imagination.

01 What is OzManga
The premise

One story, two traditions

OzManga takes the rhythm of manga — its pacing, its tension, its tropes and emotional punch — and runs it through an Australian lens. The result isn't manga set in Australia, or an Australian story with manga art bolted on. It's something built from both at once, from the ground up.

02 The experience
On the page

Part novel, part graphic narrative

Every story blends prose and artwork into a single cinematic experience. Text carries you through; artwork lands the blow. Pages move between dense narrative and full-bleed panels the way a manga moves between dialogue and a splash page — so the story is read as much as it's seen.

03 The lens
Familiar, reimagined

Manga tradition, bold new setting

The tropes are recognisable — the training arcs, the rivalries, the slow-burn dread, the last-page gut-punch. What's new is where they live: red dirt and rust-belt towns, harbour cities and fire-season skies. Familiar beats, told somewhere you haven't seen them told before.
